SYNOPSIS:
„With the birth of my son a new world opened up with all its secrets, pleasures and pains, doubts and new insights, questions, tears and feelings of happiness...“
Emotional documentation of the feelings and role concepts of young mothers in France and Germany. Based on the „carnets photographiques“ of the German author who’s been living in Paris for twenty years, the film uses a subjective approach to describe topics such as pregnancy and birth, cutting the child’s cord, breast feeding, professional life and partnership. It´s amazing how mothers in France and Germany suffer from the same problems, while France has a much better child-care system.
